Physicists and mathematicians study nature's geometric forms that are repeated in different scales and make up the structure of the universe. The Sunflower Collection is an abstraction of the sunflower, which for many Amerindian cultures like the Aztecs, Incas and Otomi, used it as a symbol to represent the Sun God.
The sunflower is a heliotrope, and in its budding stage is always turning in search of the sun. Once the flowers bloom, they are permanently fixed facing the East. By the same token, once a woman puts on her Sunflower jewelry, inevitably searches for the sun and without knowing it, in an unconscious way, once again pays homage and gratitude to the Sun God.
The Lychee collection.... was inspired by the lychee fruit.
While gazing at the landscape and eating lychees the artist realized that a small pile of fabulous forms and textures created by their peels was accumulating on the tabletop. There is a technique in the world of micro-fusion that transforms plant material into silver making an exact reproduction of the original form. And that is how the peels of this extraordinary fruit ended up becoming this collection.
Wrought iron works (Forja) is a classic example of the Modernist (Art Nouveau) period in Barcelona. Art nouveau designers eliminated the barrier between fine arts and applied arts, and introduced good design to all aspects of living - from architecture to silverware to painting. Our Forja Collection is inspired by the wrought iron balconies that you find all over Barcelona!
